This will be a pedagogical introduction to conifolds. Please see attached document if you want to check notes/references after. I aim to cover
  1. Motivation
  2. Conical Singularities, and conifolds in general
  3. 'The Conifold' 
  4. The Deformed Conifold
  5. The Resolved Conifold
  6. Generalizations of AdS/CFT
There may not be time for part 6, so please see attached document which includes a summary of the AdS/CFT part. Perhaps this can be the subject of a future JC.
If anyone wants more detailed notes, just ask, as I have a bigger file which I'm building at the moment.
